This does cover the gray and blends pretty well, but be careful, especially when it's brand new because the brush is really loaded with product and it can be very clumpy. If you hold your hair down on the side of the part you want to cover just barely touch it (I even wipe most of the product off of the wand with a tissue before using it) as you move along the part line ... then do the other side of the part, also carefully. If you need to smooth you can use a fine-toothed comb to blend it in. For the "sideburn" hair, pull the hair away from your skin so the product doesn't smear onto your skin and, again, just touch the hair lightly and comb through. It lasts until your next shampoo if you don't brush or comb it after it dries (it can flake).
