Good just need to know what you are doing.

In the passed, I have always used L'Oreal Hi-Light Styliste Brush-On Highlights and as with that one and the other one which I recently used for the first time (L'Oreal Paris Touch-On Highlights, ICED CHAMPAGNE) you need to use it in moderation, so just highlight and NOT dye your entire hair with it. Also, leave it on long enough to get rid of any yellow/orange tones.I have ash blond hair and it has happened often that after the first application it has turned yellowish because I did not leave it on long enough, so now to be on the safe side, I always get 2 boxes in case I panic cause it lightens so fast and then I end up washing it out too fast realizing I should have left it in longer to get rid of the yellow tints. I do not know about brunettes, but if you have blond, dark blond, ash blond like hair, the key is to do scattered thin highlights approximately 5-6 on each side of the head and leave it on until it is pretty much platinum to avoid any funky colors and then these products will do their job. Also put more at the ends than on the roots otherwise it will look lighter at the top than on the bottom, so I brush it in about 2 cm from my roots down and then thicken the application towards the middle and ends, so it looks more like I got some sun and the grow out will not be so obvious. What I like about doing my own hair is that I can control where I want my highlights, how much, lower cost, less hair tearing cause most hair stylists destroy my hair at the salon and I just do the front and top of my head to keep my hair below healthy at least. So it looks like my hair is all light blond but really it is only the top. I try to put a few extra thin streaks at the front, so if my hair is up I do not look like a zebra.I also recommend that before you get at it, with small hair clips, pick out all the strands equally on both sides which you plan on highlighting and start from back to front. If it turns out too yellow, a few days later redo them again and it should be fine and I personally do not have lots of hair and is quite thin, that is why I take care of the amounts I do.Also, just to note, most people are surprised that I did my own highlights cause usually they turn out fine, so it is possible to get good results with this product.

Works great!

The only thing I have ever tried that hasn't turned my hair red. Also, has more product than most usual highlighting brands. Just make sure not to leave on too long!!

Best Paint-On Highlighter
By Birderfly
I hated to see this brush-on highlighter discontinued from local stores, but was delighted to find it on Amazon. This shade of blonde is perfect to lighten-up my dark blonde to light brown hair, and as long as you leave it on for enough time, there is absolutely no orange, unlike many highlighting kits, especially Clairol in my experience. The sister color in Iced Champagne is good, but does give you more peroxide-white hairs than the Golden Honey, which is aptly named. H80 Golden Honey delivers subtle enough highlights so it isn't glaringly obvious you bleached your hair. I've bought 10 boxes of L'Oreal Hi-Light Styliste, and will mourn when they are finally extinct and out of circulation. 10 boxes cost half the price of one foil-treatment at a salon. Excellent product!
