5Black Black Black Beautiful Hair! I love it....
By ~tylas
What I do is mix the henna with real lemon juice and a bit of cinnamon before I go to bed. About 12 hours after mixing it, I put the henna mixture on my dry hair. Pile your hair on your head and cover it with plastic and on top of that a towel wrap. I leave it for 1 to 2 hours. Just make sure your gray is all covered. Clean up any spillage immediately. It will stain things - even just the powder.Mix up the Indigo with water and a tsp of salt right before you wash the henna out of your hair.Rinse the Henna out of your hair, then it will be just about the right timing to add the indigo to your hair. This is messier than the henna. Add the indigo mix to your wet hair. Again cover your piled up hair with plastic and a towel wrap. Leave on 1 to 2 hours. Making sure its no longer orange before washing the indigo out. In the morning it will have darkened some. You can see the photo on my profile of my long black hair. I am 51, so it is naturally gray. I never blow dry or perm or anything damaging like that. Clean up any spillage of this as well since it will stain. One word of caution - I recently considered just letting my hair go all gray, but you can not use dye remover or even a bleach blond kit to get this dye stain out. I tried! The only way to change your hair color after this is to let it grow out. Also you must use henna if you have gray hair since Indigo alone will turn gray hair blue.I love this since all other types of hair dye cause an allergic reaction in me and I doubt I would ever go back to regular dye even if I could now I found out how to use this.

5IT DOES WORK! Just have to do it right.

For those claiming that the indigo doesn't work try using it alone after your henna treatment. If u mix it with the henna it will give u a dark brownish color not black. :)

5Amazing coverage
By Annabella Villanueva
I am allergic to commercial hair dye so I've been using henna & indigo for the past four years. I tried this brand when my regular supplier was out of my usual indigo. This is slightly more expensive than what I was paying but it's worth it. The grey coverage is phenomenal. I used to always have a slight amount of bright orange hairs from the henna that wouldn't take (my grey is very stubborn) so I'd wind up having to touch up my roots more often. Not with this brand. The black is beautiful and the residual smell (which used to last for a few days with the other brand) is virtually non-existent. My technique is to apply the henna for 2 hours. Then I rinse it out and immediately mix up the indigo powder with about a half teaspoon or so (I really just measure by eye) of salt. I use half the bag for a root touch-up job. I mix it with hot tap water until it's the consistency of yogurt and apply immediately using one of those applicator brushes you get from a beauty supply shop. Mine is a 1-1/2" brush. I section each part and apply liberally but don't have to overdo it. After all the roots are covered, I clip the hair back (it's very long) and wrap saran wrap around my head to keep heat in. I rinse it out after 4 hours. I haven't tried less time with this brand yet. One *important* step that did wrong a lot when I was first dyeing my hair with henna/indigo was making sure you apply the indigo to your hair when it's still wet. I used to rinse out the henna, blow straight it, get out the tangles, then apply the indigo. The coverage was not great. So even if your hair is a wet tangled mess, don't worry. Just get the indigo onto the roots. When you rinse it out ... don't use shampoo and don't shampoo your hair for a few days afterwards. When I rinse out I put in lots of conditioner to help untangle it. If I need extra help, a children's detangling spray works. Usually on the 2nd or 3rd day I'll use shampoo (and a minimal amount). Giving the dye a few extra days to set into the roots helps it last longer. I always hated the smell of the indigo powder but this brand has almost no residual smell which is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about it. I'll still get my henna from the same place but I'm a convert to this brand of indigo.
