Stay far away from this shoe polish!

I will have to swallow my pride and go out in public looking like a clown, after using this product. The worst thing you can do if you decide to hide the gray, is dye your hair darker than your natural color. My hair is light brown, about the color of the guy in the picture on the box. The best way to dye your hair is to chose a shade or two lighter, than your natural color. The gray will look like highlights and your non-gray hair won't darken beyond its natural color. If your hair is graying, your skin is lightening too--it's all melanin loss and part of the aging process. Darkening the gray just a little looks more natural. Making it too dark looks foolish. Hair darker than your natural color against older skin tone looks like Bela Lugosi in full Dracula make up. I've used the older Just For Men light brown, which results in a darker than light brown, but not ridiculously so. Given that, I thought I'd try this stuff because of the "auto-stop" hype, and I even used it for less time than what it says. What a load of crap. It looks like the blackest color you've ever seen when applying it. The printed material says that's normal and won't be that dark when washed out. WRONG! Now my hair is jet black. We're talking Clark Kent black. It looks like I slathered the darkest shoe polish I could find in my hair. I feel like Ashton Kutcher just punked me. Maybe he works for Just for Men now. I'm so mad at how clownish this product has made me look, I wanna find the CEO of the company that makes it and punch their lights out. I don't think people knew I was dying the gray before because I only left the product in long enough to make it a little less gray, not fully colored. Now it looks like a Halloween wig, and there's nothing I can do about it, accept live with it for a month or shave my head. The latter might be the better option, this stuff is crap. STAY FAR AWAY FROM IT!

Fool me twice...

I actually participated in the "beta test" of this product when it was in the final stages of its development. I reported the color as much too dark when I used it then, and I assumed that all other beta testers reported the same thing. But now many months later the product is on the store shelves so I thought I'd give it another try. Stupid me. This appears to be exactly the same product I tested last year; it remains MUCH TOO DARK- even after two weeks of daily shampooing.One thing I can say for it: they do indeed seem to have solved the fading problem with the original Just For Men formula. But if you are less than 80% grey and want a light brown or medium brown color, there is currently no Autostop shade that will come out as light as you desire.Even though this product is labeled as "light brown", it should be purchased only by prople who want their hair to be DARK brown.

Great delivery...horrible formulation

The applicator on these is awesome, so easy, no mess, even distribution - If only the actual dye/formula were as good but alas, its not. It gets far FAR darker than whats supposed to. I have dark brown hair and chose the light brown since its better to be a tone under than a tone over your natural color...this thing turned my hair deep DEEP brown aka black so the areas where I applied it were MUCH darker than my natural DARK BROWN....and this was with the LIGHT BROWN formulation!! Its really too bad because Im now forced to go back to the regular JFM presentation of mixing, etc So in conclusion - Would LOVE to see this delivery but with the original formula, the color on this will go WAY WAY WAY too dark on you.
