Got out Body Art Quality Henna!

I have been using Body Art Quality Henna for years. Finally tired of the maintenance, I decided to go back to my natural colour. Now, anyone who has used this stuff knows what I am talking about, but for those who haven't, I will try to describe what BAQ does to the hair.First of all, I mainly used BAQ Henna because it is the only thing that would keep my hair red without any fading. The reason it doesn't fade is because it doesn't coat the hair, it actually penetrates the hair. Most people will tell you the only way to remove BAQ Henna is to grow it out. And they are mostly correct.However, I was determined, so after tireless hours of reading online the options that were mostly likely to be at least somewhat successful, I came across this. I went to Sally Beauty Supply and they would not sell it to me without a license. But they told me Colour Oops worked the exact same, so I bought it. It did nothing to my hair. I came online and bought the Effasol here. I used the product once and after leaving it sit for one hour, my hair lightened DRAMATICALLY. I messed up and got it on my regrowth, so that pretty well turned white. But the rest of my hair was neon orange. Ugly as sin, but progress.I did a second treatment the next day and it turned an orangey blonde. Not perfect, but better than I ever expected. I died it with a demi colour (you WILL have to colour after using this) and waited 3 weeks. There was still faint orange highlights, but it definitely looked almost back to normal. After 3 weeks, I did a third treatment. That got rid of the rest of the orange and I was able to dye it back to my natural dark blonde after that treatment.Now, I should point out that I did a deep conditioning treatment after each process and each dye job. My hair is fine and thin to begin with and I was worried about severe damage. I can say that I believe all the deep conditioning helped, but my hair is very dry now. I also had to get the ends cut off because they went a bit gummy. I'm now just going to baby my hair and hope it goes back to its normal softness, but it didn't break off or fall out and I can tell it was far better than using the other drugstore hair stripper.I did the first treatment with just water, but I could tell it needed more help, so for the second and third treatment, I did use Vol 20 developer. That is probably the main source of the dry and damaged parts.So, in short, it is a damage risk, but I can assure you - if it got out BAQ Henna, it should work amazingly well on standard dye jobs. And for those of you trying to get rid of BAQ Henna, there is hope. :)

Works, but probably need to do it twice

I dyed my hair black (blue black to be exact) about three months ago and my natural hair color is pretty much carrot orange with blonde highlights (strawberry blonde). It took most of the black out and took my hair color to orangish red. I am gonna do another shot at it and see what happens. All and all though, for getting out black dye, this product is pretty amazing! And it left my hair feeling soft and almost better then before!

I have tried many other hair dye removers and this is by far the best one. I have used this product many times on myself and different people. It is true that it does remove even black hair dye. Keep in mind that you most likely will have to repeat the application 2 or more times to get an even result. So I would purchase more than 1 especially if your hair is long - and don't forget the Oreor 20vol Cream Developer to mix it with. Also, get a really good conditioner because your hair will feel dry for a while.
