The best way to color hair

I used this brand of henna years ago, and then was talked into using peroxide products. I have come back to Avigal Henna because it is really good for the hair, especially thin hair. It coats the hair instead of changing the hair like peroxide products do.I recommend always doing a test section first, because everyones hair reacts differently to Henna, plus the timing is different on everyone hair.I out it on my hair even though hairdressers said it couldn't be done. It is easier to put Henna over dye than the other way around. I love the look and feel and healthy texture of my hair. It holds the style longer and without styling products.

I have used henna before but this brand is now my favorite. I was born with red hair but at 50 I now have white, silver and brown/deep auburn hair. The white is really a problem because it is coming in in thick streaks, (like the Bride of Frankenstein)on the top of my forehead just above my eyebrows! My hair is long hair that could be in a TV commercial, it is that fine and silky. This is mostly genetic, but in part also because I have never over processed my hair, not with heat or products or over shampooing. So to keep my hair until I am 100 in perfect health is a goal.I used the copper all over my hair and it came out so pretty with varies shades of copper, gold and red depending on which shade of my hair it was hitting. Now for the streaks - I can only say they came of a copper red a very pretty color, but I don't like having such distinct and dramatic color, so I mixed up just a little Avigal Auburn like a 1/4 cup and applied that just to the streaks. Perfect, now all my hair matches and it has lovely shades of auburn, gold, and copper. It looks totally natural and super shinny and healthy.Notes about using henna: Read the insert from Avigal twice.It's messy, messy, messy. I mix up a batch and bring a mirror onto the patio and towels, a change of cloths and everything I need and plan for a day in the sun. (I live in SW Florida). I rinse the whole mess out with the hose outside. If you can't do that, do this in the kitchen and put down a drop cloth. Especially if you have long hair. Maybe short hair is not so messy.Buy the disposable gloves from the grocery store. The type that are used in the hospital. I use plastic bags to wrap my head and olive oil to avoid staining my skin.Henna looks like baby ca-ca and smells like wet spinach. I put ground cinnamon about a 1/2 tablespoon in the mix when it is dry and a few drops of essential cinnamon oil as I am mixing. That takes care of the smell. I think any such combination of oil or herbs would take care of the smell.Avigal says to add a little olive oil to the mix, I've never done that. I am afraid the oil would get between my hair and the henna. But that's just me. Conditioning after is really important.Last note: I leave the henna on my hair as long as I can, 3 to 4 hours. If I am not in the sun enough to heat up my head (I don't want to faint!)then I get the blow dryer out and heat my head with that. Of course I do the blow dryer thing and/or sun thing, after I have changed into clean cloths from the original mess. I think leaving the henna for so long time may be one of the reasons I get such great results and fantastic shine! And then rinse, rinse, rinse & rinse.I went to a party last night, a dinner dance, and so many people complimented my hair. It's not uncommon for me to get compliments on my hair.

I always get compliments on my hair color!

I was skeptical to try this at first. However the price was better than most prices I've seen so I gave it a try. It gives my hair a beautiful reddish hue and makes my gray a rich copper color. I love it!*Note: It takes a LOT of rinsing to get out well and if you have thick, course hair it can require a lot of effort.
