5Excellent, gentle semi-permanent gloss/color, though I miss the black one
By Mir
Kindly ignore the negative review that starts off with an incorrect premise that this is a frizz-taming/conditioning product. It's not. It's a glaze/gloss/cellophane--it coats the hair and can be clear or with a suitable color for the base. I have dark brunette hair naturally, and in the past my stylist used the black color (I think it was called Black Pearl or somesuch), then the clear for a while, and now I use the Brunette (the darkest one shown in the pic, a coffee brown color).I have supersensitive skin and multiple allergies, and this is the only glaze that doesn't make my scalp burn or itch. Even the touted Redken EQ shades (which is supposed to be super gentle) makes my scalp burn some. Not Sebastian.I have the stylist use this over my permanent color that covers gray to seal in color and add some shine. Between permanent dye jobs (every 5 months or so), I use the Laminates in Brunette to keep my color richer.I don't do it at home. I take my own tube to the stylist and she puts it on me and then sits me under the bonnet for the needed time.I have 3b curly hair--dry, fine, porous, BSL, prone to frizz in warmer weather/higher dew points--and I use mostly natural products and lines targeted for natural curls that avoid silicones (Curl Junkie, Spiral Solutons, Botticelli Botanicals, Kinky Curly, AG Re:coil, Jessicurl, Deva), and having stopped straightening means my hair is more moisturized and less damaged now, so I appreciate the gentleness of Sebastian Laminates in maintaining the good state of my hair. I don't expect Laminates Cellophanes to cure my frizz. I just expect it to do its job--give me a gloss for my hair and protect my permanent color from premature fading and give me a color boost between dyeing my grays. (I'm fifty, so my hair has some age-related and thyroid-disease relatede dryness and dullness, and I'll take the help this gives to revive some shine and richness.)I'm found at Naturally Curly's site Curltalk forum -- MirCurls-- and you can search for July posts that talk about color where I've linked to pics of my hair with the Redken Shade EQ and with Sebastian Laminates BRUNETTE to see what it looks like on a curly, middle-aged gal. :)I will say that unless you buy from a salon or authorized beauty retailer, you might not get an authentic product, so caveat emptor. I got mine at GBS Aventura in South Florida, and the price was pretty good, but not THIS good. (The range I've seen in stores has been from the mid-thirties to the mid-forties). With a 10% discount at GBS, it cost me [...] bucks. I'd be wary about a price THIS low (might be expired or close to expiration or not authentic. Might wanna email the seller to ask.)Happy color to you!

3Love the product
By gd2havefun
I love the product, it gave great grey coverage and I received a ton of compliments on the color.Downside, you need to purchase the hair dryer, I did it with a blow dryer and that was too much work.I used the dark blond and you do not get the shine with the lighter colors. My friend has black hair and hers comes out incredibly shiny.

4Leaves residue
By eve
It takes several washes to get the dark color out of your scalp. When you use the light color rinse no residue is left over and it does make your hair really shinny:)
